I am the gymshanny.

With my free time I like to lift weights. And for a period of time I thought that I would be able to achieve the physique of bodybuilders such as Chris Bumstead, Ronnie Coleman and Arnold Schwarzenegger just through hard work and dedication exactly like they did. Little did I know that hard work and dedication had the help of their friend called steroids which blew my mind out of the water. I somehow didn’t connect the dots that getting that big is literally not humanly possible without external help, and that floored me.

But over time I figured out that I didn’t want to get that big anyways so I just stuck to my lifting routine and again with hard work and dedication I will get as big as my body allows me. Because working hard and putting in the effort will always lead to results right?

No.

Without complete devotion to the craft of bodybuilding/ fitness it will take a much longer time to achieve one’s fitness goals.

That being said difficult doesn’t mean impossible, it just takes time. I think everyone who works out knows this but I don’t think I ever understood just how long this journey would take.

The true reality of the situation is that sometimes no matter how much you work to reach the goal of the best body/ health/ fitness ever sometimes it may take more than the initial 2 weeks that I intended to spend on it. I would like to say that after 1 and a half years of working out semi-religiously, I feel that I am only about 30% there.

That being said I would like to think that the only thing stopping all of us from achieving our goals fitness or otherwise, is faith. Some days we will feel weak, helpless and pathetic, and sometimes we might even question the point of trying all together. However no matter how many obstacles that come our way it is integral that we believe in the end goal. No matter how painstakingly slow it is just to progress we must believe, if not then we can forget about it altogether.

Place your faiths on your best bet.

you.
