I am going to The Eras Tour.
If you are interested of watching my experience click this link.
My Relationship with Taylor
Since I was young Taylor Swift has been apart of my listening growing up. Being probably the most popular female artist of my time the influence of her music can be felt far and wide.
When I was younger I could not care less about about her music, thinking of it only as catchy pop songs that would top the charts regardless.
Songs like “You belong with me”, “22”, “Shake it Off” etc. Always so loud and always so ever present.
I didn’t have an opinion about her or her music for the longest time. Until my girlfriend started to reintroduce her music into my life again. I wanted to hate it so bad, but man I got HOOKED.
Listening to all 10 of her albums is like opening a Pandoras box.
Each album with its own style which is so embedded to the vibe and feel of the whole album, with most songs being underrated due to its lack of mainstream popularity.
With each album you get to learn a side of Taylor, the story of her music career unfolding before your ears. She talks about her struggles, her aspirations, the things that bring her joy, and the things she cries about.
Not only that with each album you can see Taylor flourish from a wannabe country singer all the way to the independent girl boss she is now.
Taylor slays.
But the whole point of this was to talk about the process of getting tickets.
The Scale
For those of you who don’t know, Singapore is the only stop in Southeast Asia for her Eras Tour.
And if you didn’t know there are a lot of swifties in the region. Like a lot.
To paint a picture in your mind, the way the to get concert tickets is by signing up. Signing up with Ticketmaster does not guarantee however, your ability to buy a ticket but rather you get to get a chance to buy a ticket.
22 million people signed up for the general sale…

To put that into perspective The National Stadium Singapore where the concert is being held can hold only 55,000 people at max capactiy.
As of this very moment, there are 6 shows, meaning a maximum of 330,000 tickets available.
If one does the math, that will be a 1.5% chance of getting the ticket.
Here’s how I became that 1.5%.
My Relationship with Queueing
There were 2 ways a local could get a ticket, through an online queue or an in-person queue.
On July 5th there was a pre-sale event for UOB card holders. I was lucky that my mom had one. And once the tickets were released at 12 noon, we clicked on the button and joined the queue.
Tickets were sold out in 3 hours. Only the first 100,000 people who were in the queue got their tickets. We were way behind. My girlfriend and I were in pickle.
As they released more information, they said that 20% of the tickets were sold, leaving 80% for the general sale.
That dropped our chances to 1.2%.
We needed those tickets. We needed to queue for those tickets.
The Queue
As we understood this fact we checked the news. It stated that post offices were opening queuing lines 48 hours in advance.
we read this news at 10 am in the morning so my girlfriend got scared that all the post offices were full of people so she rushed to the closest one our location. It was a breath of fresh air. She was 5th place.
I came a bit later to bring some supplies, snacks, entertainment, camping chair, pillows etc.
Now for the hard part. The wait.
The day past quite fast, and we entertained ourselves with our phones and talking to/ making friends with the others in the queue. But the night was hard, without a proper bed and the hot and humid weather of Singapore it was hard to fall asleep at night outside the post office.
But once morning came, time flew again and it was 12 noon July 7th. The day of the general sale.
The first person went up to get her tickets, it took a total of 30 minutes to get hers. We were stressing.
Staff at the post office told us that the Ticketmaster platform was crashing due to the all 55 island wide post offices trying to purchase the tickets for customers at the same time. STRESS.
But in the end we got it.

In total we queued for more than 24 hours. But it was worth every second just to get those tickets.
Conclusion
Honestly I never imagined that I would ever queue for any singer/songwriter as I never thought any one singer was worth my time.
But as an experience as a whole it felt surprisingly fulfilling to have gone through such a journey.
At every single moment upon knowing that Taylor was coming to Singapore, my girlfriend and I have experienced stress, hope, despair and perseverance. With both of our wills willed into the fact that we needed those tickets.
She especially worked so hard just to get it making the outcome that much sweeter.
Moral of the story?
You want it? Go get it.

I’d also like to express that most individuals who find themselves without health insurance are normally students, self-employed and those that are unemployed. More than half from the uninsured are under the age of 35. They do not sense they are in need of health insurance simply because they’re young as well as healthy. Their particular income is normally spent on housing, food, along with entertainment. Some people that do go to work either whole or part-time are not offered insurance by way of their work so they proceed without as a result of rising expense of health insurance in the United States. Thanks for the strategies you talk about through your blog.
