It has been around a month since I last posted anything on the website and it was because I was on holiday. At first I wanted to make sure that I kept posting and producing content no matter where I was in the world but I figured very soon that it was much better to spend time with those who were with me than to write. So I put that off completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, I am happy to say that I am back home in Singapore and I am going to keep writing and keep up with the posting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyways, just a life update, I went holidaying in Brisbane. And in Brisbane I was able to go see the Gold Coast, the Australian zoo and was able to explore the city and South Bank and was able to check out the Queensland museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summary of the trip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is the first time going to Brisbane so I definitely was excited about the trip. The first thing I noticed when I stepped out of the airport was the weather. It was mid autumn in the month of may making it a really nice 18-24 degrees during the day, making exploration so much more enjoyable than the hot humid 30 plus degrees we have in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the difference in size between Australia in Singapore, residential estates in Brisbane have can cover much more ground with most having their own semi detached house. With no emphasis on vertical living, the sky remains clear from buildings making it seems that much more vast. It was beautiful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to lack of high rise buildings anywhere, it allows for very little light pollution during the night which I feel granted me the ability to sleep more soundly than I ever did in Singapore. (It also led me to think about why did I sleep less here than back home but was feeling much better than I did before? I did a little digging and this was what I found…<\/a> )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doing all the touristy things was fun and the people there were very hospitable making everything extremely pleasurable. The food although a bit pricy made up for it through large portion sizes. I was really stoked about that because I am a big eater and when I eat in Singapore I usually leave dinner feeling peckish of unsatisfied. So although I did spend more on the food than I usually do, I walk out of a meal fat and happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how did I feel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Overall it was a really good time, I managed to get my sleep schedule back in track. I managed to work out too while at it, being able to find a gym close to my accommodation. It was also good that I walked a lot, it gave me the opportunity to observe the daily lives of locals and have some thought of what kind of a future I would like to have. Exploring Brisbane gave me a sense of how minuscule home was, it also made realise how much world was out there that I have yet to discover, this thought made me feel alive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, being that far away from home for that long also made me want to appreciate the people and the life I have back at home more. I realised that the clock is winding down and my friends are all moving on with their respective lives with some of them heading overseas to study as Uni starts in August. This makes me want to cherish the time I have left with them even more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other than that I don’t want to bog you guys down with any specifics but it also seems to me that I did so much but other than the highlights I can’t seem to find things to write about anymore. But that was just a quick summary of what I did and how I felt during the trip. Be sure to stick around because I will be posting more frequently now. But thank you for reading. :<\/p>\n\n\n\n
